RMF has been serving the Volkswagen community in Idaho since October of 1982. We are under the same ownership and have been at the same location since opening our doors. We have been an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau since 1985. We offer the following services:
Vehicle Repair:
The technicians at RMF have over 99 years of combined experience in Volkswagen service and repair. We offer service on all aircooled models including beetle, type III, Things and Karmann Ghias. We also work on Type II (buses) through 1971.
RMF also services out-of-warranty generation II, III and IV watercooled vehicles including the Rabbit, GTI, Golf, Cabriolet, Dasher, Quantum, Fox, Cabrio, Jetta, and Passat.
Emissions Testing:
We offer emissions testing on all vehicle makes and models, not just Volkswagens. RMF is one of five certified Ada County Emissions Testing Stations that has been under the same ownership/at the same location, since the Ada County Emissions Testing program began in 1984. Emissions Testing Technicians at RMF are also trained to repair vehicles that have failed their emissions test at other testing stations in Ada County. The goal of RMF's Testing Station and repair facility is to help vehicles be fully compliant with the standards set by the Ada County Air Quality Board.
Machine Work:
RMF's machine shop couples years of experience with knowledgeable advice to offer the perfect combination when considering performance/suspension modifications for your vehicle. We have a quick turn-around time so that your parts are back in your vehicle in a timely manner. Our machine shop offers the following services:
- Opening cases for larger pistons & cylinders
- Opening cylinder heads
- Fly Cutting
- Turning Brake Drums
- Turning Brake Rotors
- Inserting Cylinder Head Studs into Case
- Line Boring
- TIG Welding
- Mig Welding
- Pressing Ball Joints
- Reaming
- Link/King Pin Installation
New and Used Parts:
Not only does RMF sell the highest quality NOS German parts and new aftermarket parts, but we also sell high quality used parts. We offer an abundance of aircooled parts as well as many Generation II and III watercooled parts to get you back on the road quickly and safely.
